I just took a quick swing into and out of NYC, catching up with some great friends whom I haven’t seen in the better part of decade. It was awesome to hang with Rachel, Micha, and Katha and one of the highlights was checking out the High Line in Manhattan.
Last year attended The 99% Conference in NYC and one of the keynote speakers was Robert Hammond who (along with Joshua David) spearheaded the project. Robert gave a great presentation which you can check out by clicking here – on how the project was born and how he helped to start a movement in the community to bring it to fruition. I was immediately fascinated by not only the look and feel of the High Line but also how it came into being.
Here’s a quick video of the park that I shot of us at the High Line as well as some footage of us enjoying the mustache exhibit by Dave Mead at the Chelsea Market.
Have YOU been to the High Line? Would love to hear your thoughts on the park – or David Mead’s photos. Those mustaches are fierce. Fire away in the comments.
What a beautiful video. I found myself smiling and feeling curious, happy, warm, and more.
You’ve done an excellent job (again) of telling a light, airy story using a large number of subtle techniques and tools. You are a master of making something quite complex and rich look easy and carefree.
Thank you for the introduction to your friends, for insight into a world I’ve never experienced, and for the inspiration to tell my stories.
Excellent work!
Finally got around to watching this. Amazing job. I can’t believe I haven’t visited the high line yet. And to end with Mustache love – awesome.
Rick,
All I can say is thanks for the kind words. I love putting these clips together and sometimes struggle with whether they’re appropriate to post on the blog – since the original intention was to just talk biz and social media. But I think it at least gives people a sense of who I am – plus I love sharing these kinds of experiences and hope someone will see the video and get excited about visiting the High Line
You have to check it out. Thanks for the comment – and if you have time, I think you’ll really love the keynote that Robert Hammond gave on the project which I linked to in the post. Def. worth the 20 mins and you’ll be chomping at the bit to visit after you see what they have in mind for the park.
LOVED the High Line 🙂
nice video
Thanks Michelle, it was my first time there. What an impressive place. Just can’t wait for them to finish it. It felt like I was in the park of the future and love how it still is a tranquil place even though the atmosphere is so different from Central Park.
Appreciate the comment!
Still love to watch those 5 minutes of fame… 😉
Thanks again for the great job Ryan!
