I’ve been a big fan of many of the projects showcased on TheDieLine.com . Its a great resource when you want to see what the big boys or packaging design are doing. And whast’s the trend? In my opinion I’m seeing a lot more minimalist designs. Don’t be scared of white space or blank space. Its your friend in many cases.
One of the things I think a lot of clients get caught up with is that they think because they’re hiring a graphic designer that the layouts should be busy, bright, and loud. But this isn’t necessarilly the case. Like many situations, less is more. Its my job to find out what your products identity is, and project that. If that identity is ‘bold’ ‘loud’ and ‘bright’, lets do it. But if you want to be different, modern, and ‘new gourmet’ we may want to think about using a bit more restraint. …
