My brother and his wife gave me a winemaking kit and some starter Sangiovese grapes for Christmas. After several weeks, I was finally ready to bottle and label the wine before racking it in the cellar. For a first attempt, the wine was relatively drinkable, though not ‘good’ by any stretch of the imagination. More like fermented grape juice than a wine actually. The process itself though was great and I’m looking forward to bottling my next batch, an Italian Barolo which should turn out much better.
